A FAVOURABLE BALANCE. (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.) (Rec. 6.50 p.m.) Washington, January 16. The Commerce Department has reported that the country has closed 1931 with a favourable trade balance of approximately 334,076,009 dollars. The total exports for the year were valued at 2,424,183,000 dollars and the total imports at 2,090,107,000. Both arc about a billion dollars below the previous year’s figures.
