SUBSIDY ON EXPORTS. (Per United Press Association.) Palmerston North, December 18. Mr J. Linklater, M.P., who has been interviewing the Unemployment Board in connection with the flax industry, informed the Standard to-day . that Mr Jessup, vice-chairman of the board, had stated that the board had given a great deal of consideration to the industry and was very desirous of getting the mills going again. In order to help the industry the board had decided to grant a subsidyof £3 per ton on all hemp exported. The subsidy is to come into operation forthwith.
