EARTHQUAKE LOSSES
AID FOR BOOKSELLERS.

Palmerston North, December 17,
Last March the president of the New Zealand Booksellers’ Association visited Napier and Hastings where the stocks of booksellers were destroyed by the earthquake and the council of the association decided to make an appeal for assistance. Mr G. 11. Bennett, president of the association, states that there was a gratifying response from publishers of Great Britain who forwarded substantial amounts which, were distributed to the firms suffering loss. The booksellers of the Dominion also assisted materially in re-stocking the premises.
