In the Federal Arbitration Court, Mr Justice Beeby heard evidence in respect to the refusal of the Seamen’s Union to man the vessel of the Broken Hill Proprietary Company. The matter was referred to. the Court after a compulsory conference between the parties failed to reach a settlement. Ilis Honour found the action of the union entirely illegal.

Calls for crews for four vessels which are idle at Newcastle are being made to-day.
