AID TO TEACHING
SOUND FILMS IN SCHOOLS.
(British Official Wireless.)
(Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, December 16. A report on an experiment by the Middlesex educational authorities in 15 schools on the use of special sound films as an aid to teaching states that the committee finds that the films arouse and maintain interest, help to develop originality, encourage the children to read more widely, enrich personal experience, and connect the work of the classroom with the life of the world outside. Talking films, it is stated, bring the greatest benefit to the dullest children, achieving a greater awakening of intellectual consciousness than would be achieved by any other means.
