DAMAGES AWARDED
ANONYMOUS LETTERS REFLECT ON CHARACTER. (Per United Press Association). Wellington, December 16. Resulting from anonymous letters, Annie Mains Cunningham was to-day awarded £5O damages, with £lO 4/- costs, against Elizabeth McFadzean for maliciously casting a reflection on her character. One letter was to plaintiff’s brother and the other to a member of the Hospital Board. Plaintiff is dispenser at the hospital, a position for- which it was stated defendant’s daughter had been an applicant.
