In the billiards match Newman (receives 5000 on) has scored 7779, including breaks of 969, 251 and 254 (unfinished) and Lindrum 4502, including breaks of 869, 481 and 557. WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP. MRS McCONACHY A COMPETITOR. (Rec. 7 p.m.) London, December 16. Mrs Clark McOonachv. wife of the billiards player, has entered for the women’s amateur championship, suggesting the possibility of husband and wife becoming champions in the same sport. Forty-one entrants include Lady Constance Ghilde Pemberton, aged 62, who has won many tournaments.
