INVERCARGILL ELECTION.

To the Editor. Sir,—Whether the Restoration Committee or Mr Hargest was responsible for the overtures between them may be a “small matter” to Mr Mitchel but to me as an elector it is decidedly not so. If Mr Mitchel will not confirm or contradict my suggestion that the league did nut extend the initial invitation to Mr Hargest will he do this ? :— Confirm or deny my suggestion that Mr Hargest was the candidate who, so he announced through the Press, he was satisfied would when elected see that the interests of the Restoration League were protected. —I am, etc., “INTERESTED.”
