GONE TO ALLOTMENT. Thousands of New Zealand Motorists are taking steps to provide themselves with cheaper petrol and the necessary capital for Associated Motorists’ Petrol Co. Ltd. to proceed to allotment has been oversubscribed. Already, over 21,000 £1 shares have been applied for and allotted. Such an enthusiastic response in a few short weeks in difficult times indicates not only the temper of motorists, but that before long shares may be at a premium. The day of Motorists’ collective organizations would seem to be here. In other fields motorists have proved that collective action is successful and in the field of petrol there is every reason why a Motorists’ Petrol Company should be an outstanding success. The scheme has been carefully planned, and bulk storage and all other equipment costs are not estimates by the Directors, but by engineers and contractors of the highest standing. The proposition is one to appeal to all motorists and purchasers of motor spirit, whether for a baby car or a fleet of trucks. In brief it is this: The Company has a nominal capital of £lOO,OOO, of which 95,000 S per cent Non-Cumulative Preference Shares of £1 each are available to motorists. It proposes to enter into the bulk importation, storage and distribution of petrol in New Zealand. . . To sell to shareholders, through approved established re-sellers, this first-grade petrol at an anticipated saving of 6d per gallon, tinder present market conditions, as per the prospectus.
