TALL STATUE OF LENIN. (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.) (Rec. 7 p.m.) Moscow, December 14. Workers at a Leningrad factory are devoting their spare time to the construction of a statue of Lenin surmounted by a beacon in a commanding position in the city. The statue will be 370 ft high, which is 65ft. higher than tho Statue of Liberty. Liberty. COMMUNISTS CLASH WITH POLICE. (Rec. 7 p.m.) London, December 14. Communists in Hamburg broke a Christmas truce and clashed with the police at the famous Dom Fair when they were prevented from haranguing thousands of visitors. Ono Communist was killed and four were wounded. The riot lasted 90 minutes. Five were arrested. KING EDWARD’S HOSPITAL FUND. (British Official Wireless). ((Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, December 12. The Prince of Wales presided yesterday at a meeting of the council of King Edward’s Hospital Fund when over £294,000 was distributed. A message of congratulation from the King was read.
