WAGES SEDUCED
STRIKE THREATENED.
TROUBLE AT BROKEN HILL,
(United Press Assn.— By Telegraph—Copyright.)
Sydney, December 12.
The secretary of the Engine-drivers’ and Firemen’s Association stated that the members of that body employed on the Broken Hill water supply will cease work to-day if the recent wage reductions are not cancelled.
The most serious matter is that the whole town will suffer within 24 hours if there is a cessation of work and if the strike lasts two days the mines will be involved and about 3000 men rendered idle.
