ANNUAL CONCERT

PUPILS OF ST. CATHERINE’S CONVENT PRIZE WINNERS FOR THE YEAR. On Friday evening there was a very large attendance in the Victoria Hall when the annual concert by the scholars of St. Catherine’s Convent was held. The various items were well received, and the manner in which the children carried out their respective parts was a matter of general comment, and reflected the greatest credit on their tutors. The programme comprised a number of choruses arranged by Mr Kennedy Black and given by the children, a folk dance by the juniors under the supervision of Miss De Reya, a duet, “Anita’s Dance,’’ by Misses Dickens and Mcßae, a recitation, the “Red Piper,” by Miss Norma Day; a ballet, ‘There comes the Sun,” by the school children; a cantata, entitled “Bubbles,” which was voted one of the gems of the evening; wand drill by the senior girls under Miss De Reya’s supervision; a duet, the “Valse Venetienne,” by Misses M.\ and V. Pasco; and a final tableau “Adeste Fideles.”
