WOOL CONFERENCE
•PRICE-FIXING OPPOSED. (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.) (Rec. 1.25 a.m.) Melbourne, June 25. At the concluding session of the Empire Wool Conference consideration was given to four schemes dealing with stabilization of prices which were investigated by a committee. The committee duly recommended that no proposal be accepted chiefly on the ground that most, of them included some form of price-fixing which had already been rejected by the conference. The principle of insurance against loss through falling prices, which was incorporated in a scheme submitted by Sir John Higgins, was considered worthy of investigation by an independent competent authority.
