ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES
FATALITY ON CABLE TRAMWAY. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, June 23. Standing near a down running car on the Kelburn cable tramway after nine o’clock this evening, Richard Cornish, aged 47, second engineer, suddenly stepped or fell in front of the vehicle. The car was travelling at a fast speed and was unable to pull up for some distance. Cornish was considerably mutilated, death being instantaneous.
