INDISPOSED HORSES
THE RIVERTON INCIDENT, STRANGERS IN HABITS BOX. The condition of the three horses who were taken ill at Riverton shows little change, although Rin Tin Tin and Francolin can be said to be on the improve. Tippling, a stablemate of Francolin, was not herself yesterday and had to decline her engagements. Her symptoms are, however, dissimilar from those of the other horses. The stipendiary steward, Mr G. N. McLean, has been making inquiries into the incident and so have the police, but as yet little light has been thrown on it. On the night previous to the horses taking ill, two strangers were discovered in the Trentham trained Habit’s box which is close to those occupied by Rin Tin Tin and Caterpillar. When ordered out by the trainer they stated that they merely went in to have a look at the mare.
