DEATH FROM INJURIES

Whangarei, December 17.

Fritz Strack, schoolmaster at Whatiritiri, who fractured the base of his skull as the result of a collision with Richard Wallace, another motor cyclist, yesterday afternoon, died last night. Deceased was a son of the late Mr C. A. Strack, schoolmaster of Hawera, and formerly of Southland, who died four months ago.

A motor cyclist, Alfred Harriman, aged 25, of Te Papapa, received fatal injuries when he was thrown from his machine in Grey Lynn shortly before mid-day. He received a fracture of the skull and died a few hours later. The motor cycle was only slightly damaged.

Fatal injuries were received by Robert Johnston, aged nine, whose parents reside at Point Chevalier, when he was knocked down by a motor van in Point Chevalier road this morning. The boy who suffered concussion and a fracture of his leg was taken to the Auckland Hospital, where he died in the afternoon. The accident happened at a sharp bend in the road. The boy, according to an eye-witness, was bowling a hoop across the road when he was struck by the vehicle.
