TUNG OIL
DEVELOPMENT OF INDUSTRY.

Wellington, December 6
Forty thousand acres of land known as Keene’s Estate, situated at Parenga, North Island, have been purchased by a company with the object of developing the tung oil industry in New Zealand. The transaction was'completed in Wellington yesterday by Mr H. ' R. Jenkins, who states that capital amounting to £lO,OOO is available, and that he will be able to conclude negotiations with the trustees of the estate on satisfactory terms. The company plans to erect its own crushing and refining plant aud it is intended' to • proceed with the planting ot a coftsiderable area immediately the preliminaries of the formation of the company have been concluded.
