FOUGHT BURGLARS

PLUCKY BANK OFFICER. .(United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.) (Rec. 8 p.m.) Brisbane, October 20. Burglars, broke into the Bank of New South Wales at Eumundi, 75 miles north of Brisbane, early this morning. The accountant, Mr C. S. Farmer, pluckily fought them and called for help. He was nearly strangled when the manager, Mr Keith Graham, appeared on the scene and was instantly shot in the abdomen. The burglars then escaped. Neither Mr Graham nor Mr Farmer are' seriously hurt.
