GORE STOCKING LEAGUE

A DAY OF PHILANTHROPY. The .members of the Gore Stocking League had a busy time throughout Saturday at the Salvation Army Hall, Gore, parcels coming in freely from many workers and donors whose sympathies moved them to efforts on behalf of the poor folk of West Ham, London. All the parcels received contained warm goods which without- doubt will prove most acceptable to the needy folk to whom they are consigned, and a notable feature, of the offering is about a dozen well-made quilts showing what clever fingers can do when devoted to a worthy cause. The Stocking League has always prided itself on dealing mainly with material which ordinarily would be wasted, and this again characterized the consignment of Saturday last. Helpers in both town and country brought along their quotas, and by 5 p.m. other helpers had classified and packed the goods. The members of the league are grateful to all who in any way contributed to the success and usefulness of an interesting busy day.
