The council decided to go into the matter of forming sub-branches in the secondary schools of Southland, and Messrs Dunlop and Deaker were asked to report to the next meeting.

The president drew attention to the return of the New Zealand representatives to the 1.L.0. annual conference at Geneva. Professor Tocker had gone as the Government representative, Mr Weston on behalf of employers, and Mr Roberts for the New Zealand workers. Professor Tocker had already stressed the need of annually sending representatives to this conference for only by our delegates becoming known to those of other countries, and familiar with the Geneva procedure, would their usefulness increase. The report of Professor Tocker would not be published until it had been considered by the Government. It was arranged that at the next meeting on October 3, Mr Cooper would give* an address on the International Labour Conference.
