KING’S BIRTHDAY

CELEBRATION IN SAMOA.

A special ceremony in connection with the King’s birthday was held this morning. The Administrator, Colonel Allen, met 40 chiefs in the Council Chamber.

In reply to the appropriate remarks, Chief Tutagaloa expressed pleasure at the recovery of the King and said that all appreciated what Great Britain had done. The country hoped that British rule and New Zealand control would continue for all time.

At the conclusion of the ceremony cheers were given for the King and the Administrator.
