INCREASE IN RATES. (Per United Press Association.) . Auckland, May 21. •An increase in the total rates to 1 four shillings in the pound was approved by the City Council. The estimates as submitted required a total rate of 4/2, blit the estimates were cut to enable the rate|to be fixed at 4/-.
