VICTORIAN BUTTER
QUALITY DECLARED “DISASTROUS.” (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.) Melbourne, May 21. The. Commonwealth Supervisor of Dairy Exports (Mr Carroll) told a conference of Victorian dairy factory managers that the quality of Victorian butter during the past three years was disastrous. The butter sent to London was found to contain an excess of moisture. Considerable damage had been done to the prestige of Australian butter abroad. He added that butter conscience was entirely lacking among factory managers.
