EARTH TREMORS
MOVEMENT FELT IN JAPAN. (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.) Tokio, May 1. An earthquake was felt here early this morning, but there have been no reports of casualties or of any great damage. The Central Meteorological Observatory has stated that the activity was probably at sea, 75 miles north-east of Tokio. The earthquake, which started at 12.58 this morning, registered on the seismographs for 30 minutes. It was perceptible to the residents of Tokio for five minutes. Scientists attribute the ’quake to activity in the “outer Tuscartra earthquake belt.”
