DUSSELDORF MURDERS
LETTERS FROM PERPETRATOR. DETAILS OF CRIME GIVEN. Berlin, November 21. A report from Cologne states that Frau Wiese, the foster-mother of the murdered child, Gertrude Ablemann, received two letters detailing the crime, the handwriting being the same as that of the letter indicating the whereabouts of Gertrude’s body. The longer letter fully reviewed the details, commencing in verse and continuing in dramatic dialogue, reporting the murderer’s conversation and the child’s efforts at selfdefence, the knife attack, and her death shrieks. Frau Wiese attempted to commit suicide on reading the letters.
