ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES
TAXI DRIVER DISAPPEARS. (Per United Press Association.) Cambridge, October 4. Benjamin Seabourn, aged 45, a taxidriver residing in King street, Cambridge, and a well-known and highly respected resident, is missing. About 9.15 last night his car was found by the police at the wharf on the Waikato river. His hat and £3 were left on the seat of the car. The police made a thorough search, but there was no sign of Seabourn. All the evidence points to suicide. At 8.30 he handed a note to a friend to deliver to the police which contained a message that he intended going down the river. Seabourn is a married returned soldier and has a wife and one son aged 22 who is now in England taking a flying course. BOY FOUND DEAD. Taumarunui, October 4. A Hindu boy, Balwant Singh, aged 15, was found dead in a camp at Tatu near Ohura last evening. The boy’s father found the body with a bullet wound in the head and a rifle alongside. MINISTER INJURED. Dunedin, October 4. An accident occurred to-night on the North Taieri Road. A taxi driver named McLean collided with a motor cycle ridden by the Rev. Badcock whose leg was broken. He was removed to the hospital.
