WENDONSIDE NOTES

The anual meeting of the Wendonsida Tennis Club was held in the Wendoneide Hall. Mr. W. Collins (president) presided over a large attendance. The election of officials for the ensuing season resulted as follows: President, Mr. W. Collins (re-elected); secretary, Mr. D. Paterson; treasurer, Mr. J. C. Paterson; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. C. Pateraop; H. Collins and T. G. Bunting; committee, Meedames T. G. Bunting, J. C. Paterson, W. Collins, A. J. Cameron, Misses D. Hurley, M. Paterson, R. Cameron, Messrs. E. Sanson, J. Hurley, A. J. Cameron, F. Bemrose; practice captain, Mr. E. Sanson; It was decided to fix the subscription at 7/6 for men and 2/6 for the lady members. A committee of four, Messrs. D. Paterson, E. Sanson, J. Hurley and F. Bernrose, was appointed to arrange for the annual social.
The official opening of the courts was held on September 28. The day was beautifully fine and a large number of residents and visitors were present.
Personal. Mira Bctteridge (Invercargill) is tio guest of Miss Hurley. Miss I. McDonald has returned from a holiday spent at Timaru w'hcre she stayed on the return journey from Gisborne.
