(From Our Correspondent.) Mias Freda Koines, Dunedin, is home for the vacation. Mrs C. Henderson and her daughter, Edna, Myross Bush, Mrs C. Lemin and Miss F, Lemin, Invercargill, have been staying with Mrs W. Horsburgh. Miss Vida McKenzie, -Dunedin', is spending her holidays with her mother, Mrs D. W. McKenzie. Mrs L. Crump, Springetone, Christchurch, is the guest of Mrs W. D. McArthur. Mrs P. Broderick, Christchurch, is the guest of Mrs P. J. Kelly, “Renmure,” South Hillend. Miss Jane Gunn, Dunedin, is home for the vacation. Miss, N. Williamson, Waihola, is staying with her cousin, Mies N. Crane, Lochiel. Nurse W. M. Liddell, Misses J. Hay (Invercargill), E. Liddell, M. Gunn (Dunedin) and R. Liddell (Gore) are guests of Mrs H. Liddell. Mrs T. Springford and family, Invercargill, spent the week-end with Mrs J. Watson. Miss Grace Wilson, Dunedin, is home for the vacation. Miss Dolly Fleming, Mossburn, is staying with Miss Dorothy Olive. Miss D. Connor, Invercargill, is the guest of Mrs J. B. Cowie. There was a good attendance at the Salvation Army Hall on Tuesday evening when Envoy Jamieson gave her lantern lecture entitled “Ten Thousand Miles on Land and Sea.” Mrs Jamieson gave a good account of her trip to Rhodesia and South Africa and the views screened of both countries apd of the wild animals, native life, mission work and the great Mashonaland Native Congress were well worth seeing. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the speaker at the conclusion of her address. A team from the Winton Golf Club, comprising Mesdames G. Davis, A. Kerse, W. Hamilton, P. Bradlev, M. Driscoll T. Walker J. R. Hamilton, J. R. Watt, M. G. McArthur, Misses K. Hamilton, Humphries, G. M. Horner, and M. Martin, visited Wyndham on Monday and were defeated by the Wyndham players. A putting competition held for the visitors was won by Mrs T. Walker. Mrs W. Hamilton came second and Misa K. Hamilton third. - WAIRIO NOTES. ‘ (From Our Correspondent.) On Monday May 27, a large gathering assembled in Mr J. Beck’s barn, “Ballochmyle,” to tender Mr and Mrs J. H. Beck a welcome home. Dancing,was indulged in to splendid music supplied by Mr Bransfield, (piano), extras being played by Mr D. Hawthorne (pipes). Mr A. James efficiently carried out the duties of M.C. At a suitable interval Mr J. Flynn, welcomed the young couple home, and wished them every success in the future. Mr J. 11. Beck suitably res|>onded. Those present were: Mr and Mrs J. Bradshaw left on Saturday morning for a holiday embracing Tirnaru, Westport and Owaka. Mesdames Hall and Parmenter were the guests of Mr and Mrs L. J. Parmenter for a few days. , Mr and Mrs Jones, who have been the guests of Mr and Mrs G. Sinclair, have returned home. Mr and Mrs Scatter, Misses Seatter (2) and Mr A. Scatter motored to Brydone, where they were the guests of the Misses Rendall. Mr and Mrs G. Robinson are spending a holiday In Duendin. Mr and Mrs G. H. Stevens and Miss Stevens spent the week-end at Bluff. Mr and Mrs C. Affleck, Grassy Creek are spending a few days in Dunedin visiting the Winter Show. „

Mrs J. E. Stevens spent the week-end with Mr and Mrs A. 0. Saunders, Ringway. Miss N. Ayrton visited Mr and Mrs S. Lightfoot during the week-end. Mrs A. Salton spent a few days recently with Mr and Mrs D. Clark. Mrs B. M. Dahlenburg, Waikouro, left last week to join' the s.s. Manuka for Victoria. Mrs J. Baker, Invgrcargill, was the guest of Mrs J. Lee last week. Mrs Garrick and family, Gore, have been staying with Mr and Mrs L. T. Moore. Mrs R. H. Walker, Invercargill, was the guest of Mr and Mrs J. N. Brown last week. Miss Clark, Dunedin, -.and Miss M. McGregor, Mount Linton, spent a few days with Mr and Mrs W. Kennedy, “Studleigh” last week. Miss Mitchell, Ocean Beach, and Nurse Cameron, Dunedin, have been the guests of Mr and Mrs H. L. Chandler.

Misses B and L. Lumsden, Invercargill, and Miss S. Eades, Edendale, stayed with Mr and Mrs L. Lumsden for a few days last week.
