BOBBY VEAL EXPORT.
To. the Editor,
Sir, —I feel sure that it was quite unintentional that Mr John Dunlop should fall into error in his ascription of all the credit to Mr John Fisher for initiating this sideline of dairying, entitling him to "the whole-hearted thanks of the dairymen of Southland in particular and of New Zealand in general.” The scheme of co-operative export of bobby veal originated in the North Island, and was in operation there a year before Mr Fisher came into the limelight; and he onlj’ copied the northern notion. New Zealand, therefore, is “not,” indebted to Mr Fisher’s “earnest entreaty,” his “usual' clear-sighted manner,” or his foresight as to the possibilities of the scheme. —I am, etc., FAIR PLAY.
