SUGAR INDUSTRY
GREATER CONSUMPTION URGED. (Rec. 7.15 p.m.) Geneva, May 10. At the Economic Conference, as a result of an investigation into what is termed the world’s sugar crisis, a proposal is afoot’ to create an international commission for the purpose of stimulating consumption as an antidote to the existence of depression in the industry as it tacitly acknowledged that any attempt to regulate production and export by international means would be futile.—Australian Press Association.
