COUNTY COUNCILS
SYSTEM OF BOOK-KEEPING. (Per United Press Association.) Napier, May 9. A deputation from the Hawkes Bay County Council this morning made representations to the Prime Minister in regard to the introduction of an improved system of book-keeping for County Councils. Mr H. M. Campbell, M.P., said the present systems were different all over the country and their suggestion was that Sir Joseph should allow a member of the Audit Department and a member of the Public Works Department to confer with the County Clerk (Mr A. 11. Ferguson), with a view to evolving a scheme to meet with present day requirements and submit it to the Premier for approval. Sir Joseph Ward agreed that facilities should be provided ,to enable a report to be made on an improved scheme suitable for all County Councils.
