CITY REVALUATION
INCORRECT WANGANUI RETURNS. »
ACTION IN ASSESSMENT COURT.
(Per United Press Association.)
Wanganui, April 19,
In the Assessment Court to-day with Mr J. H. Salmon presiding, preliminary points were raised that the city valuer had not made the valtles in accordance with the Act and, in compiling the valuations, had ignored rental values. It was also admitted that the column in setting out the particulars of rents had not been filled in in the valuation roll.
The magistrate held that it was clear the valuer had proceeded on a -wrong basis, namely 5 per cent, of the fee simple and the list was not prepared according to the Act. In no one instance had the particulars been filled in. The special, column, he therefore ruled, was no valuation list according to the requirements of the Act and it would be necessary for the court to appoint a valuer to make such, a list.
