SKELETONS UNEARTHED

GAOL SITE IN MELBOURNE.

Melbourne, April 19.

A novel strike occurred when the builders’ labourers on the old Melbourne Gaol site, where the excavators continue to unearth the remains of executed criminals, left work, demanding 30/- per day and that an undertaker should remove the bones. These terms were agreed to. Over twenty skeletons have been dug up. Mose of the graves have been despoiled by souvenir hunters.—Australian Press Association.
