GORE v. INVERCARGILL.
MATCH AT GORE.
A team comprising the top players of the three senior Invercargill clubs, ■ fried conclusions with the top players of the Gore Club on the Gore lawns yesterday afternoon. The games in several instances were very even and interesting, and were closely watched by. a large gathering of players and friends. The following arc .the-scores, the Gore players mentioned first:— - Singles—-Mr A. H. W. Aitken beat Mrs T. M. Macdonald 22—12;,Miss I. M. Durham beat Mrs H. Smith 26—23 : Mr R. W. McCrea! h lost to Mrs J. Wesney 21 —22 (unfinished! ; Mrs R. Telfcr.beat Mrs Wilson 26—23; Mrs R. W. McCreath beat Mrs McCallum 26 —14; Mrs .1. Hodge lost to Mrs Curie 22—26. Doubles—Miss 1. M. Durham and Mr R. W. McCreath beat Mesdames T. M. Macdonald and H. Smith 26—14; Mrs R. Telfer and Mr A. H. W. Aitken beat Mesdames J. Wesney and Wilson 26—16; Mesdames R. W. McCreath and J. Hodge beat Mesdames McCallum and Curie 26 —21.
