NEW SYSTEM AT ARNOLD RIVER.

PROPOSAL CARRIED AT POLL.

Greymouth, April 17.

A poll was taken to-day in the Grey Power Board district on the proposal to instal a hydro system at Arnold River to generate 1500 kilowatts at. a cost of £llB,000 in order to replace the present steam installation of 1000 kilowatts at Dobson. The proposal was carried, the voting being: For 707, against 373 and informal 9. The necessary three-fifths majority was exceeded by about 60 votes.
