PIGEON FLYING

©— RACE FROM DUNEDIN. The Southland Homing Pigeon Club flew a flock race from Dunedin on Saturday last. There was an entry of 57 birds representing eight lofts. The birds were liberated by the stationmaster in calm, but. very foggy weather at 10 a.m.,' the first bird homing at 1.30 p.m. Considering that a light rain was encountered nearing Invercargill this can be regarded as a very satisfactory fly. The results, which were very close, are as follows: — J. W. Cox’s .black chequer cock Starboard Light (3hrs 29mins) . . 1 T. Kenney’s blue chequer cock Pink Coat (3hrs. 29mins. 15secs) 2 E.
