MONTHLY MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. The monthly meeting of the executive of the Southland Motor Association was held last night, the president, Mr J. R. Haigh, presiding over the following members: Messrs F. G. O’Beirne, J. Hunter, M. M. Macdonald, G. Tapper, W. A. Stout, A. J. Campbell, W. F. Sutton, A. M. Macdonald, J. D. Campbell, • Drs. S. Brown and J. G. Macdonald. Six new members were elected. Sign-Posting. The secretary of the Otago Motor Club wrote advising that his club was prepared to fall in with the Southland Motor Association in sign posting the Balclutha-Fort-rose route. The colours decided on were orange and green in accordance with the suggestion of the Southland Motor Association and the Otago Club would be willing to undertake the work as far as Maclennan. —Received. Edendale Hill. Mr Donald Macdonald, of Edendale, wrote suggesting that the association should request the County Council to lower the bank on the top side of the turn at the base of the Edendale hill so that motorists could get a view of the road, justifying a sufficient speed to reach the top of the hill easily on top gear. It was decided that Mr Macdon/ald’s suggestion should be adopted and that the spoil so obtained should be used to bank up the outer side of the turn. Motorists’ Journal. The editor of the New Zealand Motor Owner wrote informing the association that the journal was being issued in collaboration with the South Island Motor Union. One of its chief objects would be to help all associations by publishing complete reports of their doings and news of their districts so that members and others may be made aware of the good work that is being done for the benelt of members in general. The letter asked the association to appoint a small but capable committee which would make it its business to see thart the magazine received all the news and information possible calculated to interest owners of all types of vehicles. Mr J. S. Dick, (he secretary, was appointed official correspondent to the journal pro tern, and Messrs J. Hunter and C. Campbell were appointed to assist him in his work.
