SHOPS BURGLED

SUMS OF MONEY TAKEN. (Per United Press Association.) Te Awamutu, October 15. A smart arrest was effected yesterday by the Te Awamutu police. Detective White (Hamilton) received word during the morning that two shops at Ohaupo had been burgled during the night and small sums of money taken. Constables Forsyth and Hooker investigated and the only clue obtainable was a peculiarly shaped boot heel mark in a garden alongside one of the shops. They then decided to investigate the movements of one Roy Norris who they found was an inmate, of the Waikota Hospital. His boots made similar marks so they arrested and charged him with the burglary. He will be charged to-day at Hamilton.
