DROWNING TRAGEDY
MOTHER AND FOUR CHILDREN. (Rec. 7.45 p.m.) Sydney, October 12. While the Rev. Benson, Rector of Bodalla, was motoring home from a vacation, tragedy overtook the party. Arriving at Clyde River, Bateman’s Bay, early in the morning Mr Benson mistook lights and drove into the river. His wife and four children, whose ages range from six months to nine years were drowned. The bodies of two boys and a girl were recovered, but those of Mrs Benson and another boy are missing.—Australian Press Association.
