ST. PETER’S CHURCH
ADDRESS TO MOTHERS. No mother present at St. Peter’s Church on Tuesday afternoon after hearing the im« pressive address given by the Rev. E. Gard' iner, the subject of which was “What have I seen in Thine House,” could but realize the greatness of a mother’s influence and power in a home, and feel resolved for the future to instil into her children and to create in the home life a love for honesty, truth and beauty. Throughout the whole address there breathed a spirit of real earnestness and true sincerity. On the motion of Mrs Garrett, the Rev. Gardiner received a very hearty vote of thanks for the inspiring address. Mrs Fairbairn, in the ‘absence of Mrs Pasley, accepted the chair, and warmly welcomed the mothers, including in her welcome Miss McLay, Dominion organizer, and also Mrs Garrett, who has been unable to attend for a long time through illness. It was announced that the district annual convention will begin on Tuesday evening, November 6, by a reception to Mrs Don and visiting delegates, and will continue all day on Wednesday by a business session in the morning, and a social afternoon with an address by Mrs Don. The meeting's opening devotions were led by Mrs Macgregor, assisted by Mrs McKinnon. Mrs Lee accompanied the two soloists, Mrs Thomson and Mrs Bain.
