MONTH OF JUNE. The month of June was noteworthy on account of its heavy rainfall, the bulk of which fell during the last ten days of the month when the rainfall registered was 4 inches, 2 inches in excess of the average. Rain fell on 20 out of the 30 days with a total of 5.03 inches. A large number of frosts were experienced, culminating in 12 degrees on the 17th, a very severe frost for Invercargill. Another sharp frost occurred on the 16th when 9 degrees were recorded. On the 29th and 30th a very severe southwest storm was experienced. Generally speaking June was quite a severe winter month.
