BASKETBALL REPORTS.

To the Editor.

Sir.—I wish to draw attention to the unfairness to players of an unbalanced report of a team’s work. In the match ’Kiwi v. Pirates it appears that the whole work was done from the Centres to the Shoots, while the defence work was almost entirely left out. In the first half the defence of ’Kiwi did great work, une defence player alone successfully obtained, intercepted or defended 14 times. The report of Rata v. Makarewa is a good example of a balanced report of a team’s work; although I cannot vouch for the correctness as I did not make notes of that match. —I am, etc., “SPECTATOR.”

[The same reporter reported both games. —E. S.T.]
