THE MODERN GIRL
BAPTIST WOMAN’S DEFENCE. SALVATION OF THE WORLD. Ottawa, June 27. A Toronto message states that a strong plea for the modern girl was made by Mrs Nathan Wood, of Boston, before the Baptist World Congress. She said: “God has given us the modern girl, to whom we must look for the salvation of the world. Some wear skirts just a bit too short, but it is these girls who are going into the Orient to lead Turkish women from the harem and Mohammedan women from filth and unhappy married conditions. They are leading the women of the world into emancipation.”—Australian Press Association.
