WIMBLEDON TOURNAMENT. BOUSSUS DEFEATS ANDREWS. London, June 27. The success of the Australians and the surprising New Zealand anti-climax constituted to-day’s Antipodean record at Wimbledon. The packed centre court hailed Andrews as a new idol, but within a few minutes Boussus was the purveyor of delight. It hardly does Andrews justice to say that he came back to a normal game after Mon day’s stupendous achievement. Perhaps it is truer to say his gruelling match with Hunter made him easily a victim for the agile left-handed Frenchman whose game is exactly similar to Andrews’ with a shade greater certainty and craftiness. Andrews began Monday’s tactics of coming into the net, only to find he was facing a master volleyer and an unerring smasher, whose low sweeping line drives were invariably winners. Andrews was forced into a long game at which Boussus was also the master. With his .-peed and subtleness he worked Andrews into a succession of mistakes. chiefly in over-driving. Nevertheless the New Zealander fought finely to the end. I Jet ails of the second round of the men’s singles were as follows:- Moon beat Lycett 9 7, 4 —6, 7—5, 5—7, 6—o; Austin beat Wheatley 6—2, 6—B, 6—B, 6—2, 6—l; Crawford beat Pennycuick 6—4, 2—6, 6—3, 12—10- Ryan.
