DUTCH ENTHUSIASM. GREAT PREPARATIONS London, June 2. The Amsterdam correspondent of the “Daily News” says that when Holland set out to house the world's athletes at the Olympiad, it undertook a task that would have dismayed many a larger country. The completion of the Stadium, baths, racks etc., represents an accomplishment in the -face of all manner of discouragementa which is a magnificent tribute to the spirit of the Dutch people. Everyone of them has the Olympic spirit. Everywhere are signs of enthusiasm. Even in the cafes glasses rest on “Olympic spirit plaques”. The whole country is pre paring to bid the world a great welcome. There will be Olympic cigarettes, ties, and hats. It is reckoned 24,000 beds will be let to visitors besides which liners will be used as floating hotels. Special preparations are being made to welcome the British contingent, who are still known by the Hollanders as the great est sporting nation. Special aeroplanes will fly between Croydon and Amsterdam, landing within easy reach of the stadium, and the trip will occupy three hours.—Sun Special.
