NOTORIOUS AGITATOR

BELA KUN SENTENCED.

AN UNUSUAL PROVISION.

(Rec. 7.15 p.m.) Vienna, June 26. Charged with forming a secret society and giving a false description of himself, Bela Kun was sentenced to three months in prison. A further curious sentence of one day’s fasting for each of these months, followed by deportation for contravening the order forbidding him to return to Austria, was also passed.—Australian Press Association—United States.

A message from Vienna on April 27 stated: The notorious Communist, Bela Kun, has been arrested. He arrived from Russia on a political mission. It is alleged that under the name of a business firm he took an office in which he and his Hungarian party friends met. He refused to give information concerning the object of his stay. When police investigations have concluded he will be charged with being a member of a secret society and with returning to Austria contrary to orders.
