HEAD ON COLLISION

TRAIN HITS BUS. DRIVER JUMPS CLEAR. (Per United Press Assoclstlon.) Auckland, June 26. As the Limited express, inward bound, was passing over a double line level crossing at Southdown at 9.15 a.m. it collided with a bus owned by the Passenger Transport Company and driven by E. Edwards. It was a head-on collision. Edwards jumped clear before the 'bus was hurled into the air and careered for some distance before being jammed into the cattle stop. Edwards was rendered unconscious when he hit the ground but recovered, being only slightly bruised. There were no passengers in the ’bus.
