There has not been such a large crowd at the Waikaka dance for some years past as there attended on this occasion, and every one was filled with the carnival spirit and helped to make the dance more enjoyable. Quite a large number attended in fancy dress and some of these were very pretty. Excellent music was supplied by Wallis’s Orchestra (Gore), the members of which were also in fancy dress. The prizes for the best fancy dresses went to Miss Dripps, and Mr D.’Mcßain (Otama). FOOTBALLER INJURED. While playing football at Tapanui on Saturday Mr T. Downey, a player in the Waikaka senior team, had the misfortune to have his shoulder put out. After re ceiving treatment at the Tapanui Hospital he was able to proceed home.
