SOUTHLAND FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION. MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. At a meeting of the Southland Football Association last evening, Mr G. E. Pollock, presided over a good attendance when in addition to other supporters, the following delegates were present: Messrs McKay, Cathcart, Cook, Anderson, Maxwell, Doig, Cairney, Guthrie and Penman.

A letter was received from the Corinthian Club referring to the good services of Mr W. Reddington who acted in the capacity of referee in the match between Corinthians and Invercargill last Saturday.

Mr Pollock said that it was indeed very satisfactory' to receive such a letter adding that it would be forwarded to the Referees’ Association.

It was decided that Messrs Maxwell and Smith wait on the Southland Cricket Association on the subject of the enclosure at the showgrounds, the members being appointed to report at next meeting of the executive. It was stated that mote ground would be required as school teams were participating.

It was decided that the Mangan Cup be played for in a two-round competition. A motion that the Central Club be affiliated to the Southland Football Association was carried.

It was stated that the senior clubs desired to foster soccer in primary schools and were working hard to achieve that object. Various opinions were expressed on the matter of the schools competitions when it was decided that the question be left in the hands of a committee -)f coaches appointed by the executive to report at the next meeting.

It was stated that there is every possibility of a B grade competition amongst the schools being inaugurated shortly. MANGAN CUP COMPETITION. —First Round.— Following is the draw for the first round of the Mangan Cup competition:— Saturday, J<*ne 30—Invercargill v. Rangers, No. 1; Corinthians v. Central No. 2. Saturday, July 7—lnvercargill v. Central No. 1; Rangers v. Corinthians No. 2. Saturday, July 14—Invercargill v. Corin thians No. 1; Rangers v. Central No. 2. SCHOOLS COMPETITION. Following is the draw for the first round in the schools competition:— Saturdav, June 30 —Waihopai A v. South A, No. 1; Middle A v. North A, No. 2. Saturday, July 7—Waihopai A v.
