SENSATIONAL MOTOR RECORD

“FALCON-KNIGHT SIX” CROSSES AMERICAN CONTINENT IN 73 HOURS AND 47 MINUTES.

Coast to Coast in 73 hours and 47 minutes! Washington to Los Angeles, in 3 days! This smashing record was achieved by America’s most sensational car—the “Fal-con-Knight Six.” Wtih Cannon Ball Baker, world’s champion open road driver, at the wheel, this “Knight”-engined stock car covered the distance between Washington and Los Angeles faster than any other stock motor car has ever travelled in any coast to coast speed or endurance test. In establishing this new cross continent record, the “Falcon-Knight” car was clocked by Western Union officials for an average speed of 43.34 miles per hour, and lowered by 6 hours and 8 minutes the previous running time made by a Chrysler “80.” The test was most noteworthy due to the severe weather and road conditions encountered in the early spring. In the dash across the country, driving conditions called for continued high speed driving in second gear, and great sustained endurance in high gear. At all times, when road conditions permitted, the “Falcon-Knight” was kept at full speed for hours at a time, often maintaining a speed of 70 miles an hour. For long stretches over mountains and through mud, the “Falcon-Knight Six” maintained an average speed of 35 miles an hour in second gear. At times a speed of 45 miles in second gear was attained, with the motor turning over at the terrific rate of more than 4900 revolution per minute.

At the conclusion of the trip the “Fal-con-Knight” car was thoroughly inspected and found to be in ever better condition that when it started. The “Falcon-Knight” double-sleeve-valve motor was quieter, more powerful and more efficient. Only a car powered by the famous “Knight” doublp-sleeve-valve engine could accomplish this feat and finish with its motor in perfect condition, and the success of the “FalconKnight Six” and is remarkable performance is attributed to the famous “Falcon-Knight”sleeve-valve engine. Never before has such distinction been achieved by a popularly priced car and it emphasizes the wonderful value of the “Fal con-Knight” of which even ihe highest, priced de luxe sedan is only £485.
